About Poem

I had an artificial intelligence (AI) poetry smartphone app create a poem based off a couple random lines I didn’t really know what to do with. The AI poem was ok, it was very formal and a bit too perfect, especially for a poem about parenthood. But this AI poem was a great jumping off point to create this poem as inspiration.

Moms: Lost and Found

I’m a labyrinth soul

On a winding path

That never leads home

My value is springing leaks

Filling up a pool

Of paranoid.

The laundry pile

Catches my vacant stare

And grows into a mountain of doubt.

Echoes of

What might have been

Start to fade.

Am I still me

Or a little bit of her too?

Do I only exist

In the space between?

A new name

And a new place

We have so much in common

A glimmer of giggles

And eyes that hold.

Tug at the corners

Of my mouth.

A new path is forged in a snuggle,

It’s straight and narrow.

And it only leads to you.
